Quick question. If a cust prints a large job where some of the sheets have colour, but most do not, does the driver distinguish between the two on the metre count? Or is the whole job counted as colour? A cust appears to have billing issues, so I need an answer for her. I thought it would but not 100 percent sure. Not sure how they have the driver installed either. Any insight to this would be appreciated, as I don't have any colour image runners to test. Thanks in advance!

Re: metre count
If you ask me, it goes like this:- If you select "full color" from the print driver (or copier when making copies), then every page is counted as color page. So the black areas are produced as "process black" (C,M,Y toners used).
- If you select "automatic color", then the device will recognize if the page is black or a color one. So black pages are counted as black (and only K toner is used for that page), and color pages are counted as color.

Re: metre count
I just tested on two different 5185's one with fiery and one with internal print and they change B/W to color on duplex using both the PS and PCL drivers.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment
