E824 There is a primary charging cooling fan error.
E824-0001/E804-0001 :>>>>> DC controller PCB is faulty
Since the error codes "E724-0001" and "E804-0001" were displayed, the DC controller PCB was replaced with a new one for solution.
In this field case, the operation of a fan alternated between rotation and stop repeatedly.
>>>> E824-0001 can be displayed when the primary charging cooling fan stop signal is detected for 5 sec or more although the fan is ON. Since the DC controller PCB was faulty, a malfunction occurred in the stage of generating the fan actuating signal, causing a failure to output that signal.Field remedy
1. Re-fit J164 connector of the primary charging cooling fan (FM2).
2. Re-fit J1542 connector of the fixing heater power supply cooling fan (FM7).
3. Re-fit J103 and J124 connectors of the DC controller PCB.
4. If the symptom still occurs, replace the DC controller PCB with a new one.
5. After replacing the DC controller PCB, perform the following procedures.
5-1. Detach the 6 EEPROMs from the old PCB, and mount them onto the new PCB. When mounting, use the round stickers as references so that each EEPROM will be mounted to the same location as the old PCB.
5-2. Input values printed on the label on the new PCB into the following service modes.
- Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > HV-TR > DPRE-TR
- Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > HV-TR > D-HV-TR
- Service mode > COPIER > Adjust > HV-SP > D-HV-SP
- Service mode > CPOIER > Adjust > DEVELOP > D-HV-DE
5-3. Detach the short connector from J303 on the old PCB and connect it at the same location on the new PCB. (If this connector is not connected, blank LCD display will occur.) Note: If any one of the 2 error codes alone is displayed, replace the applicable fan with a new one before replacing the DC controller PCB.
