    ir3300 not passing paper

I can't brain today, been a long week.

Ir3300 when making a copy the scanner assembly doesn't move. paper leaves the tray and sits at registration, can't cancel the job (well you can hit the buttons but it never cancels).

Neither will it print internal pages (fax reports, etc) but it also doesn't pull paper.

No error codes, no jam codes.

reseated boot rom and ram, checked all plugs on main controller and DC controller.

I'm thinking laser motor, but wanted your thoughts.

    Thanx

Check for a stuck key on the panel/ make sure all buttons are functioning / slight depress on key> should bounce back when released-

check outlet for proper voltages -
    could be line noise>
Switching Regulator PCB is FH3-2613-020 ver. will correct this

                Re: ir3300 not passing paper

Could be close to one i had, sounding similar to this
My device also had a J1 Internal finisher, and would do this with both prints (Int & Ext) and copys
The fault was it would pick paper and then sit at the reg for around 2 mins then move across through the fuser then sit in the verical path for another 2 mins
Then it would deliver the page to the exit of the finisher

Fault was the J1 Control PCB
I removed the J1 to prove this, it would work, but Jam all the time at the point it would go into the Finisher (If it was there)

Might be worth a try if you have a J1 Finisher

Just did this, nothing changed, but I am curious of the logic behind this.

dhanesh, it won't print internal pages either.

MRB, this machine doesn't have an internal finisher :/

                    Canon has no Logic
while in service mode/ did u try to print out a test page ?

paper leaves the tray and sits at registration
you quoted this statement above in your first post

is this still happening when you send a Print or do a Glass Copy( paper leaves the tray)

Only pulls from tray when you try to make a glass copy, otherwise it does not pull paper.

                        Anyone have any idea?

                          Re: ir3300 not passing paper

have you checked your fuser temp in service mode? I'm wondering if the machine is having a difficult time maintaining the proper temperature and therefore the machine pauses before moving the paper to the drum and then to the fuser assembly.

You could have a wiring issue to.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
