    E000677-0080 CLC4040

    Hi,

When you try to print from PC the copier displays printer processing print for while and
time out and get error E000677-0080 (there is a comunication problem between the printer board and main controller)

copier work fine as a copier and can also ping from PC.
Reseated all the cables to fiery. and also clean DIMM MEMORY contacts and reseated back on copier.
Is it firmware issues? or fiery playing up?

    Any suggestion would be helpfull
    Thank in advance

    Re: E000677-0080 CLC4040

look at the open interface board as a possible solution. This has caused problems in the past

    also check this:

Code is related to a mismatch of firmware between the Printer and the Raster Imaging Printing Device. In this case, the Printer or (Machine) was at version 66 and the imagePASS H1 was at version 1.1. This created a communication failure between the Printer and the RIP. If the machine is at version 66 or later the imagePASS H1 has to be at version 1.2.

Note: If the Machine version was at a version below 66 it would have no problem communicating with the imagePASS H1 version 1.0 or 1.1

Part Numbers for SSW for the imagePASS H1 1.2
    Disc 1 of 2 CD-ROM (FK2-5818-000)
    Disc 2 of 2 CD-ROM (FK2-5819-000)

      Hi

today tried to load fiery system firmware ver 2.0 but would not load up, tried many times, but comes up with download failure.
I dont know if the HDD is packed up or not.

I asked the customer about shutting down copier and they switch off direct from main switch, so
they are not following the shutdown procedure.

Cannot eve print fiery printer status report.

May order new HDD and try again to load firmware.

      Any furher input please.

      thanks

sounds like your imagepass come to a "ready" state. I dont see an HDD causing a communication error between it and the copier. I would go with the open interface board or possibly the main controller. You could also try a different set of cables as well.

Once I had an intermittent ecode (sounds like this one) on a 5185, when they sent large jobs.
The solution was replacing the hard drive.

The fact that you are unable to load the system software is a clue.

              Hi Teckat

H1 is the existing fiery with the error code E000677-0080, hangs when printing with PCL5 drivers existing
even printer test print~forever processing print job and times out.

I will check printer firmware and report back.
I used network install procedure with x-over cable via LAN port on fiery.
Cannot even print out Configuration page , just goes into processing & wait state.

What is range do i have to set on my laptop Lan port i set to 169.254.31.112.
When i install the firmware fron CD Ver2.0 at stage (11) as per you PDF installation guide
I select my Laptop Lan port 169.254.31.112 and click next and screen takes forever and get failure after 20 minute.
Procedure 12 says move dip S/W to service mode & power up copier,
but i put them on service mode at start & power up the copier
              at beginnning.
I am doing the procedure wrong and do you think HHD is falty as the customer powere down copier direct from main ON/OFF S?W..

I done this procedure Yesterday Before I got you Post
              Thanks you.

When version 2.0 is installed on the imagePASS,
the System Software for the copier must be at least version v78.

We had this problem on a few of the H1 fiery's. The only way to update to v2.0 is by using a usb stick. It sounds like you have a low bios version and won't accept v.2. Usb works fine.
Oh...... I can't copy at the moment then ? !!!!!!

                    Hi, apollo

The steps provided by teckat is correct, but you need not fixed the IP of your laptop. The Fiery installer will auto-assign IP of "192.168.xxx.xxx" to your laptop and H1. Just need to select your laptop's LAN port when the Fiery installer request it. It will have a progess bar running twice, 1st time will takes about 2 min while last one will takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on HDD's size.

                    Good Luck!

                      Hi, Paul 75

USB stick will work even if you have lower BIOS. Had fact-find it before, (refer attached that was done way back when handling Fiery).

                        Hi

Thank you all techs The only way to update to v2.0 is by using a usb stick worked 100%.
the HDD was fine ,just the firmware was corrupted due to customer not following the shut down procedure
correctly, just switching off the copier directy from main ON/OFF switch.
The software version was V92 and fiery firmware was updated with version 2.

Thanks a lot for all your input
