I have a Canon IR3570 that has gone through about 6 films in the past year. They continually get an E007 and when the tech goes out the film is torn. We have purchased films from Canon, Katun, Precision Roller and NA Trading and same problem. And this tech has replaced many other films on this model with no problems. Any ideas?

Re: Torn Fixing Film IR3570
warped assembly
lower pressure roller and bearings need replacement as well
customer stock
customer not clearing jams properly
There are multiple possibilities. I would quit throwing films at it though as that is not solving the issue for you or your customer.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment

Re: Torn Fixing Film IR3570
The tech says he has swapped out the whole unit but didn't replace the bearings or pressure roller on either one, is this something that should always be done when replacing the film?Comment

Re: Torn Fixing Film IR3570
we replace them every with every other film for customers that run normal stock, but if they run stock that is out of the ordinary then we rebuild the entire thing everytime.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment

Re: Torn Fixing Film IR3570
If this is anything like the IR3300, I have found that the cleaning roller should also be changed. Uneven build up of toner
causes uneven pressure on the pressure roller, which puts uneven pressure on the film and causes the film to track to
the front or back and eventually the film rips. Typically I replace or clean the cleaning roller with goo gone. Check the
bushings on the cleaning roller. If to much play then I replace it. Always change the bushings on the pressure roller
when replacing the pressure roller.
Hope that helps
