Canon Fax L-280 Reset code for scanner

Hi, when you scan/copy a page into the machine, it comes out with about 1" of black lines all down the RightHandSide of the copied page - I believe there is a reset code you can key in
reset the led bank - would appreciate any help - many thanks - Don

Have you tried cleaning the slit glass that the page scans across?

Yes I have done that - I am looking for a s/w reset code that you key into the front panel... akin to HP's Cold Reset..etc

Make a print .Maybe is cartridge issue.You can't reset scanner with code,but you can calibrate it.

Calibration can't help with stripes!

The image has vertical stripes.

(1) Clean the contact sensor's scanning glass.
(2) Check the connection between the contact sensor and SCNT board (J2).
(3) Replace the contact sensor unit.

The image has thick vertical stripes.
