    Canon NP6030 E004 error

When I turn on the Canon np6030, an error message comes on the screen and then it turns off.
The error message is E004 SSR, Exposure lamp board. I dont think that the light is coming on. It does
not look like it is. I can hold the power switch in the on position and the panel comes on, but none
of the buttons are responsive. Is there a way to work throught this and find out of the light is bad
or if it is something else. Is this repairable at all?

      Huh

So what all does that mean. Is the switch bad, or the bulb, or the board? I need it in lamens terms.

      Thanks

As a layman, the best thing you can do is call your technician. The fuser gets up to 180C when operating normally, and it's important that the thermistors are installed correctly, thermal switches positioned correctly, and lamps properly handled. Let the pros handle this one.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                  Actually the error is:
E004 Turn power off and turn it back on again.

The switch automatically turns back to the off position after about 1 to 2 seconds. I hope it is what you said it was.

You need a tech...fuser errors need to be cleared in service mode...then you can troubleshoot it...probably bad heater lamp or thersistor...you can reset the overheat thermalswitch by sticking it in the freezer for about 15 minutes then give it a good whack on the side with the handle of a screwdriver

I am facing the same problem with a NP6035. I have replaced the entire fuser assembly, SSR & Exposure Lamp.. but the problem remains. I removed the DC Controller Board & Power Supply to check. When I reinstalled these, the machine came on without switching itself off, but there was a paper jam indicator on. Naturally, I started to check the entire paper path, but the same problem came back after that.. it switched itself off again, with the error code E004.

I hope someone can advise me on the next action to take. Could it be due the DC Controller Board or Power Supply that is faulty?

U probably forgot to connect one of the cables for that paper jam.Check cables again.

for the E004, i would recommend that u check cables of heater lamps that goes from Power supply and to power supply whit voltmeter.

Check door actuator switch and if u need to change a board i would like to go for power supply even tho i changed only one board in 30 machines but u never know...
