    iRADV-C5045i modified drivers

    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could help me locate a modified driver for the iR ADV-C5045i please? I'd like to enforce the option 'Output Method' - 'Secured Print' so the users can only print securely. I have heard this is possible but don't seem to be able to get them in the UK, has anyone come across this before and can you send modified drivers please?

    Many thanks

    Richard

Have you tried downloading the driver from the canon website (Canon UK - Home)

I have just looked at the drivers i have on my laptop, and both the PCL & Postscript drivers have the output options on them

          Hi All,

Thanks for your replies. I need to 'enforce' the option, not just make it available. I know there are modified drivers available which only give the option of 'Secure Print' and do not allow any other form of printing, they are what I was after.

          Cheers

Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE systems support an optional IPSec Board, which allows users to utilize IPSec (Internet Protocol Security) to help ensure the privacy and security of information sent to and from the device, while in transit over unsecured networks.

IPSec is a suite of protocols for securing IP communications. IPSec supports secure exchange of packets at the IP layer, where the packets in the data stream are authenticated and encrypted. It encrypts traffic so that the traffic cannot be read by parties other than those for whom it is intended, it also ensures that the traffic has not been modified along its path and is from a trusted party, and protects against replay of the secure session. The IPSec functionality of the device only supports transport mode, therefore authentication and encryption is only applied to the data part of the IP packets.

In the device, the following items need to be installed:
            1. IPSec Board-B2 - 2906B002AA
            2. Expansion Bus-F1 - 2905B001AA

Easiest way to do this is to install the driver, configure and then share it over the network as a regular user that way all the users will have forced settings. We do this with a couple of our clients to make sure that they're set for secure print off the bat.

                Hi northernlife,

Does this lock down all the settings including duplex / colour settings? Or can the user change them if necessary?

                Thanks

User is able to change from secured print to regular print. Do you want them to become unavailable as well?

                      Hi,

i've just come across an irac 5045i with only secured output in the driver.( french driver)( No other output options were available)

i did'nt bother to look into this issue since the driver has been installed by the network administrator.

the end users can access all other settings( paper, finishing, duplex etc).

teckat had published a driver that can be modified. maybe that's the one.
