[CQ] iR2018 Blank on Head

Hi..

I have 4 Canon iR2018 and 1 of them has a ploblem.

- There's blank [white line] about 1.5 inch from left to right on the top of copy even when i print
and i try on A4R and it's blank on the top about 1 cm. on the top of copy even when i print.

- I check the lamp is light up when scan even on feeder
- I check cable CCD [pull out and plug it again]
- I check Toner is full
- I check Drum Unit / Drum is not seem wrong and primary seem find so i clean it with dry cloth.
- I check Toner unit it's seem fine no line or dot
- I try to clear err or service record and it's looks like work but after a few copy it's Happen again !!!
- I try to copy ratio 70% and the blank reduce by that ratio too.

What i should check next ??

try to stop the paper before enter the fuser uni and tell me is it the same ?
70 percent it will be cylander problem but

if the paper stop before enter the fuser unit there will no image on paper right? [it's gonna be blank]
and how do i know it's still blank on paper head or not.

if the paper stop before enter the fuser unit there will no image on paper right? [it's gonna be blank]
and how do i know it's still blank on paper head or not.

you will have unfused toner on your paper. You are looking to see if the toner is smearing off before it hits the furer unit. Your problem is probably happening in the development stage of the image formation. Either your developer is not carrying the toner to the drum or the laser is not writing to your drum unit.

The cam for your developer could also be out of place not applying pressure on one side causing the light image as well. Post a sample of your problem as that will help us see what you are working on. Run a sky shot as well. This is a copy with the lid up so you get a solid black image across the page.

exactly what Charm Said just open the platen and print a balck copy and then stop it before enter the Fuser see still the blank appear if yea check the Cam if broken and follow what Charm wrote .

I didn't check iR2018 yet because my customer call me in the morning that it's ok ....it's just normal ... so i keep waiting a few day perhap it will be back

and today I going to service another customer with my father to fix NP6650 / I saw this machine since i was a child.

there some thing wrong with the image
it's blur and shift from left side about 2 inchs

my father
- check lens pass + clean
- rail scan and string too slack / but after tight it ....it's still the same
- blade too old / but no spare part so ....can't do any thing
- Drum my father suspect that some of old blade sticky on drum so I clean it

after all he suspect motor that drive rail scan

I didn't want answer but gladly accept any comment

the 6650 is an old mechanical beast. I sample of the blur would be helpful in troubleshooting

i have problem just recently in one of my Canon ir2016j machine...blurred copy on right side portion about 2 inches down...
