By the sounds of it you are having an error issue which is causing the jam after you cycle the power on the machineAccidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned. -
Re: Canon 5870u Help
Jam code 0209 means stationary jam at sensor ps32. Check the area around the pre-registration rollers for foreign objects blocking the paper path and the pre-registartion rollers itself, maybe they are not driven.
Are you able to make a print/copy using the bypass?

Re: Canon 5870u Help
sry, maybe i misspelled it. On ricoh boxes you name it bypass, on canon maybe single sheet feeder. I meant the platform right side from point 10, where you can feed single sheets, overhead sheets and so on.If sometimes you feel a little useless, offended and depressed always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm of hundreds of millions!Comment

Its getting warmer
The manual Feed tray and the pre-registration rollers are driven through M6. Check the motor itself via I/O check and look for worn gears, bearings etc.

Is the i/o check done in the service mode 1 or 2?Comment

Re: Canon 5870u Help
ok so the manual feed gets a jam, checked the m6 motor and that tested fine, checked the solenoid and that tested fine. As soon as the manual feed starts to work, it gets a jam code, w/out the paper pick-up tray engaging. any ideas?Comment
