Re: Very poor print quality on Canon iR2570

I had a go at getting access to the rollers today, and it didn't go too well. I got access to the external secondary transfer roller fine, took it out, had a look at it (looks like it needs replacing soon) and put it back together again. Only problem is: now when I try and print I get a paper jam in that area. Therefore, I think I must have put it back together wrongly.

I've included a few pictures below - hopefully someone might be able to tell me how I've got it wrong. I followed the manual as closely as possible, but I have a feeling that something is in the wrong place!

Also, the other question I have is: Is the black piece in the photos meant to be attached to the white piece (the right-hand side door) at both ends? Mine is attached close to the hinge, but is free to move at the other end. The manual doesn't really show whether they should be attached or not, and I can't see a way to attach the other end of the black piece, but it doesn't seem quite right to me. Any thoughts?

Thanks. I thought I had them positioned correctly, but it seems not. I took it off and put it on again a few more times and now it doesn't jam.

Looking at the roller, it seems pretty dirty/marked/old, so I'm going to get a new one and install that (particularly as they're cheap). I'll see how that goes, and report back.

      Cheers,

      Robin
