C5185 Meap application

Hello

I have a Canon irc5185 that shows only mailbox, printer and print jobs tabs. There is no tab for copy. Do I need to do a firmware update. I do have the sst from my last job but did not use before I left. I am reading through the manuel but it seems complicated. Does anyone have any hints or suggestions for me.

Thankyou for the reply. I was not able to find UI copy. I did find other settings with UI including box print eprint web and hold. I also see Meap dsp. I have tried adjusting the settings for these and was able to turn off mailbox and print tabs. Could they be anywhere else?

never seen one without UICOPY.
maybe there is a way to hide it that i am not aware of.
this should do it

first
If the m/c is networked you have to print config page
if they have universal send or scan to file you need info for that, and backup the address book
if the use mailboxes ,backup if possible or tell them they will lose info.

then
additional functions>system settings>initialize all data will reset the m/c to factory specs.

-Display Setting of Copy Tab
Make a setting as to whether to display/hide the copy screen (copy tab) on the control panel. This is the specification for users who want to customize hiding it on control panel.
Default value
1: display
Setting range, item
0: hide 1: display
Setting Procedure
1) Start up [SERVICE MODE]
Service Mode .JPG
(After pressing [ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS] button , press [#2] button and [#8] button at the same time on control panel. Then press [ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS] button again, [SERVICE MODE] screen is displayed).
1) Then Press >ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS again >Then Press #2 Button- now>
This brings u in LEVEL 2 for the adjustment
2) Press [COPIER] button.
3) Press [Option] button.
4) Press [BODY] button.
5) Press [<-]or[->] (arrow) button.
6) Press [UI-COPY] button.
7) Press either 0 (hide) or 1 (display) on control panel (the numerical value input in the field is displayed), and press [OK] button.
8) Check to see that it is reflected in setting field, and turn off the main power, and then, turn on the main power.

I can not seem to find the ui copy. When I compare the lists in service mode 2 copier option body with another machine there are 20 pages on the machine that has ui copy and only 18 on the machine that does not have the ui copy. Any ideas how I can get this setting back? Before I pulled the hard drive I did have the copy screen and the only thing I did was pull and put the hard drive back in.

Why did u pull the HDD OUT ????


power off printer>remove wall plug>remove & re-insert Reader I/F Cable> put wall plug back in>power up printer>see if Copy tab returns>if not check back in level 2 for setting>

quick ?? if u place a doc in DF and try to make a copy(press start key)> will it pick-up ? and scan ?
is the Scanner recognized by Printer ???

COPIER>OPTION>W/SCNR
For copy models, sets whether scanner is present.
The setting value takes effect after the main power switch is turned OFF/
ON.
Setting
0: Printer model
1: Model with scanner===set this to "1" power of /on printer


will scanner scan auto gradation pages ???

try a RCON clear
or try a Copier>Function>Clear>MMI clear-

make sure u have P PRINTS to load any changed settings back in !!!!!!!!!!!!/ like your Fiery connection
Before performing the this item, explain to the user that all images in the MAIL BOX will be lost, and receive permission to perform.

removing and reinstalling the HDD would not have this afftect on the machine.

this is a possible solution:

There are two types of Plain Pedestals available for the C5185 / C5180 / C4580 / C4080 series models. They are NOT interchangeable! If the wrong plain pedestal is installed or simply a Plain Pedestal or even a cassette feeding unit is NOT installed, you will not get the Copy nor the Express Copy screens on the display panel. Below are the two Plain Pedestals and Cassette Feeding Units and which models they are compatible with:

Plain Pedestal-E1 = C4080 / C4580 / C5180 / C4080i / C4580i / C5180i
Plain Pedestal-E2 = C5185 ONLY!

Cassette Feeding Unit-Z1 = C4080 / C4580 / C5180 / C4080i / C4580i / C5180i
Cassette Feeding Unit-Z2 = C5185 ONLY!

NOTE: Please take note that the UI-COPY key will not be available in service mode level 2 under COPIER>OPTION>BODY.
