canon ir 105 showing e 246-002 error, wht could be the prob, please help, ( machine is in a far away place, i want to be prepared before attending the machine.) thnakns in advance.

Reading from/ writing to the soft counter memory cannot be done properly.Probably DIMM issue.If it ain't broke, don't fix it

READ THIS----
E246=Error in writing operations (to the counter memory).
1. A normal soft counter reading cannot be written to the counter memory.
2. Counter Memory PCB not being recognized on power up
Action
1. Re-install original Counter Memory PCB that belongs to that equipment.
2. Replace Counter Memory PCB with new one.
iR105 PART # FOR COUNTER MEMORY PCB.= FG3-3169-000
If replacing the Counter Memory PCB does not fix an E245, E246 or E247 code, suspect a failed Main Controller PCB (put back the original Counter Memory PCB when replacing the Main Controller PCB).
Results
All counters are retained.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
