    [CQ] IRC 2020 drum issue

    Hi All

I have had two of these machines give me +- 25K on the black drum. The problem that I have is one of ofsetting. It looks like the coating of the upper fixing roller has peeled of and it is ofsetting (ghost image) whatever comes in its path. The problem was solved by replacing the black drum (two different machines)

    Please advise

    Thanx in advance

    imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020 / C2030

As the residual toner accumulated on the Upstream Brush increases, potential cannot be equalized when outputting solid white and solid black after transferring to the ITB so that the failure occurs. This may cause a "Drum Ghost".

    ----------------
    1. Specify the color with which ghost occurs by visual check
    2. Increase the level of Upstream DC bias by 1
    (L2) COPIER>ADJUST>HV-PRI>USUB-xDC
    3. If the trace of Upstream Brush has not disappeared, decrease the level of Upstream DC bias by 1
    4. Decrease the amount of toner deposit
    (L2) COPIER>OPTION>IMG-MNCON>TNR-DWN
    5. If the issue still persists, replace the Drum Unit of the specific color
    6. Return the service mode setting value to the default

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2000 Series incorporates a new cleaner-less drum system. The drum uses a brush to recover toner that has been left during the ITB transfer process without needing to provide the toner recovery path. This results in a longer life for the drum and contributes to the models compact size.
