Bought used Canon irc 4080. Need to connect it to computer via Local Area Network. LAN uses a switch and CAT5 cable. Service manual (page2-2) not much help. Is there an instruction manual that would cover this ? If not, can you give me some basic step by step directions ? Thanks, Jim

Re: Need step by step directions for connecting irc 4080 to LAN
Screens 1 thru 3 on page 2-7 of the manual are pretty much alike on both machines, but on the fiery machine screen 4 says "use PASV mode for FTP". This seems to toggle off or on. I don't know what it means or how to get to any meaningful TCP/IP screens. Can you provide some guidence ?
I have screen and machine photos if they would be helpful, but I don't know how to send them to you. Should I try to post to my thread ?
Thanks, Jim salterComment

Thank you so much for giving answer to my 3/28/2012 plea of "Need step by step directions for connecting irc 4080 to LAN" You asked what kind of RIP. One machine has a Fiery and I don't know what type RIP is on the Non-Fiery machine. I was able to connect the non-Fiery useing the mamual you sent.
