did you check to see that the pre-exposure lamps are turning on during the sequence? check the wiring through the AP unit as it gets old and can cause a poor connection.

did you run any internal test pages or try to print from a PC to see if the engine is having issues?

and check it, work well pre lamps Exposure is more margins are marked on the copy funcinan showing that the problem is that it leaves the copy but with dark background

I once had a similar problem which was caused by bad toner.Try to change the toner.
