    Canon 980 - Paper Jam

    Customer bring Canon small desktop 980 copier that was picking up more than one sheet through the Doc. Feeder. I replaced the separation pad to solve the problem and now when I insert a paper in the Doc. Feeder the LCD
    Screen has paper jam and to lift cover. I checked for paper jam. No paper jam. I even put the old pad back but still get the same error.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

      It sounds as though you may have dislodged a paper feed switch, or unplugged a sensor while dissassembling.
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Hey Jack, Is the indication in the screen "CHECK ORIGINAL LIFT COVER"?
          If so there are two sensor actuators to the left of the pickup assy., the second one in may be out of place.
          Like the United States Postal Service It's a miracle it works!
