    All three cables connect to the machine you have no socket in copier body for cable with the black sleeve !
    To the right of the blue / red cable

    The machine either has this cable missing or not fitted correctly.

    Unusual to say the least.

        some of cables not connected it happened with me once

          This is from the Unit-AE1 installation manual - see the MEMO. So i suppose the black cable doesn't have to be connected.

            I recently did an installation of the same configuration as yours.
            And yes - the black cable is NOT connected.

            BUT - did you install the Power Supply Unit ???

              Oh great...thanks for pointing it out - there is no mention on either the manual or our local Canon webpages that a power supply is required.Even when ordering this printer they didn't warn me that I will need the power supply - they obviosly didn't even know i will...

                You are right to some degree.
                Canon should have more info, but if you read the installation manual of the AE1 Unit, you will find it there.

                Next time pay more attention
