    iR5000i malfunction

Here is the trouble,The machine boots normally and comes to standby screen but when the Start (Green) button is pressed to make copies, the scanner does not move at all; however the screen will display 'Printing Completed'It is observed as follows,

    1. The is neither displayed in the service mode level 1, nor is in,
    2. If you press the 123 button, under Device Configuration, the Scanner version is displayed 0.00,
    3. The READER PCB and DIFFERENTIAL PCBs were replaced but no change.
    4. If a doc is placed in the FEEDER, is detected, which shows the power supply is there,
    5. When the I/F cable was disconnected, E732 was NOT displayed as would be the case.
    6. The machine prints from PC, only copying is a problem.

Please guys, I need your help. The machine previously had a HDD failure, a used one was fitted and it worked fine for two months before this fault.Regards!

Seems like machine fail to detect the scanner unit.
As Canon.Tech said you need to ensure there is nothing wrong with hardisk and it firmware(N) by reloading it another time.

If you have a problem with HDD before, better to replace it and re-install Sissoft...

Thank you all for the suggestions!
I will put them into use, but I may take time to report back because I don't have the right firmware at the moment. I will look for one and proceed.
        Regards!

Canon Tech is sport on.I had a similar experience though mine had multiple errors simultaneously. After re-installing the firmware the problem was solved.

did u check for a low voltage supply to reader pcb .( believe it should be 24v)
            think it's J5004 of J5005 on reader---pin1=24v--pin2=gd
low supply can cause weird issues (as in no error codes )

did u check the RCON I/O readings ????? are they present ??
