    iR 6000 error code E000804-0000

I am looking for some direction on the following error code: E000804-0000. We just received this 'refurbished' iR 6000 from one of our sister companies and this is the first time we have tried to set it up. Any help is appreciated!

      e804

That code is for the DC power supply cooling fan.

Thanks. We pulled the cover to check the fan. Nothing is blocking the blades. The fan turns on and the unit powers up but then the fan just stops and E804 appears. Does this indicate a failed fan controller?

May not be much help - I had a simular issue with a different model. Replaced the fan and still had same error code. My system had a finisher and while working in the back I disconnected the finisher, cleaned and reset it (the finisher connector), problem went away ???? Don't ask me. System has been trouble free for over 200K since.

In my very limited experience I have come to believe sometimes error codes are like (some) Canon installation guides - they lie.

              fans or not

Just for grins and gigles try swapping the DC psu fan for the dev. unit fan and see if the error code changes. If not replace the DC pcu.

Resolved. Turns out that there was a piece of plastic lodged in the fan. We were looking in the wrong place originally. How man fans do these things have anyway?

                Thanks everyone for your help!!!
