    [Misc] Canon ira c5051i

Canon ira c5051 works fine unless it needs to print a report (either a tx/rx report, d print, p print, history report etc) and then it pre feeds paper to registration, hangs for about 2 mins and then throws a jam. if you clear the jam the machine then hangs until you cancel the report in the job log.

Machine is only two weeks old with less than 2k on the clock.

    Any ideas?

    Firmware version?
    Jam code?

Should be the latest software as it is new. Jam code 0105, but it is not jamming when copying or printing, only when it prints a report.

do not assume that just because it is new that the firmware was upgraded to the latest before it was delivered to you.

do you have a paperdeck attached to this machine by chance?
which tray is the report paper printing from?

I thought the same but hanging for two minutes?

No paper deck, printing from the top tray of 4. It is very odd - the machine works perfectly fine for print and copy. Problem only shows when it needs to print any sort of a report, then it feeds the paper to reg rollers, hangs for about a minute and throws a jam. When you clear the jam the machine just hangs until you clear the report in the job log and does not allow any other prining or copying until you do so.

personally I would reset my main controller and RAM first.
If that did not work I would do a full overwrite of the firmware.
If problems still persisted I would do a DCON and then an MN-CON clear

I will try mncon clear. To be honest I had to leave it as it is working fine as far as the customer is concerned, unless it needs to print a report.

Do you have finisher attached to this machine? Try to change the output tray for "other" in user mode Function Settings > Common > Paper Output Settings to tray A or B.

If 2nd delivery full sensor flag is mistakely removed during buffer pass unit instalation, sensor keeps reporting tray "C" full state. Reports and P prints etc are printed to "C" output tray by default. If this is the problem in your case then you probably can't execute auto gradation adjustment...
