    iR 400

    Can anybody help please,
i recently tried to install printer drivers for cano iR400 network printer board. PCL5e could not work, papers jammed. With PCL6 paper came out but were blank and came continouosly until cassette empty, please help.

Secondly, the version on HDD indicate V1.4, i think this is too old, are there ways to flash and install newer ones? how can i source the firmwares?

Either error codes E100 and E301 come occassionally, are they associated to the first fault?

    Regards!

Your print driver may be an entirely separate issue.

The E100/E301 errors are probably caused by a bad Beam Detect Board. That's the board that detects when the laser has reached the end of line, and that the laser is still coming on. I've seen a few of these boards with cold solder joints. If you're lucky, and good with a soldering iron you may have a quick fix.

The problem with printing until the cassette is empty sounds like an emulation problem. If you loaded a PCL6 driver and the printer is set for PostScript, yes it will print hundreds of pages of unintelligible garble (aka raw code). Same thing if you loaded the PostScript driver and the printer is set to PCL6 emulation. They must be set to the same emulation (or language) whichever you choose (or whatever the limitations).

    Good Luck. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
