    [Misc] CYLINDER DEVELOPING

    Hallo every body,

This is just a discussion, you know the cylinder developing is expensive enough. I think we need a solution to repair the cylinder. We know the cylinder is plated by magnetic material. Any body has experience how to plating the cylinder with magnetic?, is it has a risk to machine?

    Thanks

remove & wipe off dev/toner---then clean the cylinder with BRASSO CLEANER> Wipe off with water >let dry

I mean, the plating magnetic of cylinder was finished (white color). Is that possible we plate the cylinder again with magnetic?

The magnet is actually inside the cylinder. The cylinder itself is made of aluminium. All you can do is what teckat says...

by the way, just want to know, what is the material (black) draped the cylinder?

If a developer roller is worn then it is time to replace the developer unit as the bearings, spacers etc will also be worn (depending on model)

                Most likely anodized aluminum.

What im thinking is theres a magnetic thing inside the cylinder. Must be handle with careful. I drop it once before to the solid ground and causing the magnetic broken inside. Then i assemble back to developer unit hoping it will run perfectly but the result will be uneven dirty copy at background.
