Universal Send Setup on Imagepass S2 & Command Station Issue

    Hi,

Trying to setup a Ir7095 with an S2. Trying to get universal send to work all servers and gateways are set on the S2, but when i try to send just says error with no code.
I have the same setup on a another IR7095 with an internal RIP, is there something i'm missing?

The 2nd issue I'm having is when i log into command station, with the IR7095 with the S2, the option for "setup" is greyed out I'm logged in as Administrator so don't understand with its grayed out?

    Any info would help..

    Thanks,
    Rak

what ver of CWS are u using ??
    v5.1 supports S1 v2.1
what is your Windows OP system ----

Universal Send needs a LMS License Number /did u register it ?

The original Universal Send Kit-E1 was Sales Item Number 0749B002AA and was for use in the version 1 machines. This kit is not forward compatible with a version 2 machine.

However, the Universal Send Kit-E1 with a Sales Item Number of 0749B002AB can be used in a version 1 machine. This kit is backwards compatible and can be used in a version 1 and version 2 machine.

I'm using CWS Version 4.2 with an S2 V1.0. Is that compatible? Win XP For the universal Send I can put all the info in the the mail server's, the machines seems to be registered. Just when it tried to send it just comes with up with an error, i checked all setting, it seems like it's just not connecting to the internet, gateway and DNS all setup. Thanks

believe the S2 V1.0 started support with CWS v4.50.38

        for CWS v5.0.1.12
        u can try http://software.canon-europe.com/sof...753.asp?model=

You can check for the LMS-based Printer Kit on the Canon device the same way as you would check for any other installed LMS-based option or kit.

        Perform the following steps:

        1. Press the [Counter Check] button on the copier control panel.

        2. Hit the [Device Configuration] button on the LCD screen.

        3. Scroll down through all of the available pages on this Device Configuration screen. Look for either PS, PCL or UFRII. The methods listed here (ex. PS, PCL, or UFRII) are installed and are available for printing.

Thanks for the info... I downloaded CSW 5 but the option to configure is there but when i try to configure no box comes just hangs..I tried it with a Konica machine i have the setup portion works on CSW 5. For the universal send I looked for those options but there not listed. Whats interesting is that the other Ir7095 i have doesn't have those options listed either but the email portion still works.. Thanks..

CWS 5 work with Konica but not Canon S2? let try it from another angle, from IE would you be able run the setup of S2? If it can't , you might be in need of a patch file in S2

Let me check if there is a patch related to your issue, then get back to you.

Re: Universal Send Setup on Imagepass S2 & Command Station Issue

print out a config sheet & post it--

is your 7095 a Printer only model ??

To find out whether a model is equipped with SEND functions, make the following selections in service mode: 1. Enter Service Mode by hitting Additional Functions, 2 and 8, and then Additional Functions.
                  2. Hit COPIER > DISPLAY > ACC-STS and view the value for SEND.
3.If a 0 is displayed for SEND, then the Send function is absent, if a 1 or 2 is displayed for SEND, then the Send function is present.

When the imageRUNNER is connected with an imagePASS controller, you have 2 options for setting up email services:

                  1. Using the imagePASS's email capability - Enable and configure Email Services through Setup on the imagePASS and send email using the imagePASS's interface (select Scan Job option). This option will have access to the Fiery Address Book on the imagePASS. This method is what is further explained in this article.

                  2. Using the optional Universal Send Kit - Must install the appropriate Universal Send Kit. Configure Email Services through Additional Functions, System Settings, Network Settings, E-mail/I-fax Settings on the copier LCD screen. You can send email using the Send tab on the copier LCD screen and the imagePASS will allow the email packets sent from the copier to pass through. This option will have access to the copier's Address Book.

Setting Up Email Services on the imagePASS:
In order to have E-mail and I-Fax capabilities, you must first enable E-mail Services at the imagePASS:
                  1. Select Run Setup. Confirm that you wish to enter Setup mode by hitting Yes.
                  2. Select Network Setup.
                  3. Choose Service Setup.
                  4. Hit Email Setup.
                  5. For the 'Enable Email Services' prompt, select Yes.
                  6. Follow the prompts, entering the required information to configure the email settings (see the attached PDF for more information).
                  7. Save your changes and exit Setup mode.

This option enables the imagePASS to use Email or Internet Fax as a means of communication for a variety of purposes, including printing PostScript, PDF, and TIFF files, and sending scanned files as an outgoing Email or Internet Fax.
For more detailed information on configuring the imagePASS, please see the imagePASS Configuration Guide included on the User Documentation CD.

To Scan an Original and Send it as an Email using the imagePASS
                  :
                  1. Select Scan Job from the imagePASS menu
Load your original(s) in ADF or on platen glass.
                  2. Hit Source and enter your desired settings:
                    - Document Source (ADF or Platen)
                    - Original Size
                    - Orientation
                    - Sides (Single or Duplex)
Press Image Options and enter your desired settings:
                    - Color Mode (Color, Gray Scale, or Black and White)
                    - Image Mode (Text, Image, or Text/Image)
                    - Background Removal
                    - Brightness
                    - Resolution
                    - Binding Direction (Left Side or Top Side)
                  3. Hit Destination and select Add Destination.
                  4. Choose Send to Email (this option will not be present if Email Services was not enabled in Setup).
                  5. Press Select Address.

Pick New Address and manually enter the email address to send to, or pick Fiery Address Book to choose the email address to send to.
                  6. Select Configure Email and enter your desired settings:
                    - Send Doc As (Attachment or URL)
                    - File Format (PDF, TIFF, or JPEG)
                  7. Hit Start Scan.
                  8. Enter the Filename.
                  9. At the Start Scan Now prompt, select Yes (this will start the scanning of the send job).

To add-on, another 2 patch: 1-T3RFZ: "Configure" do not launch when Java 6 has been installed 1-RUCVX: IE7 crash when click "Configure" via WebTools
Final had a chance to look at the machine again, so confirmed that the SEND Option in Additional Functions as the #1 next to it. I setup all the the correct fields on the IR7095, I want to be able to send emails via Universal Send. What am I missing is there a way to see what type of error it is, why its not sending? I know on the other Ir7095 (that does not have an RIP but a internal print card) has universal send and I had to put in the gateway on the machine but with this newer one i have an S2 hooked up to it and i put all the network info in the S2. Also where can i d/l the patches from? Thanks again..
