I have a Canon IRC2620 great CQ. However when I run say 1000 copies (doesn't matter if it,s B&W or Color). I get a rainbow of colors on the 1/4 in at the top of the paper for @2,3 or 4 sheets out of @ 100 images , then it goes away. This happens consistently. Any ideas. Thank's John

The 'rainbow of colors' are probably the patches layed down on the ITB during Auto Gradation adjustment.Comment

Re: IRC2620 Intermittent , multi-color background
I removed the ITB plate and vacumed out excessive toner in that area. We are going to run a color copy job of @ 1,000 color copies. W'ell see !. As far as providing a sample of the problem,we currently don't have the scanner to do so ,but if the problem shows up again I can go to someone who has that scanning capability. I'll be in touch one way or the other, after we run this job. Thank's for all of the responses. JohnComment

Re: IRC2620 Intermittent , multi-color background
Yes ,I completely removed the large plate and attached the lead to the metal spring as you suggested and vacumed it all out. No I didn't do the other 2. Once we run the long copy job, we see where we stand. Thank You.Comment

Re: IRC2620 Intermittent , multi-color background
I had to replace the large plate. When the copier went to Adj. Gradation, after 100 copies it had multi color background on the next 50 pages, usually it happens only on the next three. I have downloaded samples, but can,t figure out how to link them to copytechnet. Could somone provide instructions on how to link. Thank's JohnComment

Re: IRC2620 Intermittent , multi-color background
Just to make sure:
is background issue for glass copies only ?
or also on network prints ??? & or/on a PG6 test print /
is a fiery connected ??
Turn off PASCAL in service mode. Run CCD AUTO ADJ. Turn PASCAL back on. Exit service mode and complete a FULL Auto-gradation.
Check the salt sensor for proper installation or any pinched wires.

Re: IRC2620 Intermittent , multi-color background
Here's two images. It happens both on the glass and from the printer. After it goes thru "auto gradation". . Thank's John. [ATTACH]17709Attached FilesLast edited by Digicomm; 10-16-2012, 05:27 PM.Comment
