    Canon SST - uploading

OK never had to upload data before, having to replace a bad Main Controller PCB. It ways to backup the data from the copier first. It said to use safe mode for uploading. That is the 2 & 8 / on till download shows on the display. How do I get to the Upload Data screen? Went through the SST and I do not see the upload Data button anywhere. How do you do this? Thanks

    Re: Canon SST - uploading

    Hello,

There is a detailed description of the SST in all canon documentation as far as the corresponding model uses SST for system downloading. It's under "upgrading" chapter.

Thanks, I have the manual and have read this, but the uploading part I can not see? I have used the downloading many times, never the uploading.

thought u need to be in Normal Mode ?? for UPLOADING -SramRCON or
-SramDCON/ is that a typo in book ??

NORMAL MODE: Hold down the 1&7 keys while turning on the power, hold until you see 'FIX IP' in the upper right corner of the display. (Note: In normal download mode you will see a full display also). When using normal mode you must also go into service mode under-COPIER/FUNCTION/SYSTEM/DOWNLOAD, highlight DOWNLOAD and select OK to put the machine into standby for receiving data from your computer. You can use normal mode to flash the following software and firmware:

                    • Formatting hard drive individual partitions- DosDev, FSTDev, DosDev2, FSTPDev, DosDev3, PDLDev, DosDev4, DosDev5.
                    • System, Language, RUI, Boot (individual partitions), G3fax, Dcon, Rcon.
                    • Upload backup data- SramImg, SramDcon, SramRcon.
                    • Download backup data- SramImg, SramDcon, SramRcon.

                          SST must be OFF <>

Printer first needs to be in NORMAL MODE / 1 & 7 & not in usual Safe Mode( 2 & 8)
                          then launch the SST

Data files are now shown under "SINGLE" when in NORMAL MODE 1 & 7

needs to be in NORMAL MODE > then select connect>then select model > then while selecting SINGLE under the model in SST/ U should then see the SramDcon file data file

Techat, finally got to the screen and uploaded the files, thank you. I am going to replace the Main controller PCB, never done this and am using caution. Someone said it needs to me mated to the machine? Is there anything I need to know before I procede, do not want to do something wrong and lock the machine up. Thanks

after replacing the main controller PCB, be sure to transfer the following components from the old to
                              new PCB.
                              [1] Boot ROM
