for the noise thing : open up the scanner and clean the rubber rollers and grease the mechanical gears.
for the displacement: run stiching program (maybe another name it is used now)
But for sure there are some wizards in the software that comes with the scanner.
As far as I remember from Colortrac cX40 series (which pretty much is what you have): you need to print out a test sheet & than scan it under the stiching program
and than +- the values until you are satisfied.

if it is used for. when you have displacement. uniform. but look at the evidence is mixed.
at first. no. then yes. displacement and sometimes just

swap flat cables between the 5 ciss to see if the "problem" moves.
