    [Misc] Touch Screen Imagepress C1

Had problems with the touchscreen on a Imagepress C1. Don't laugh, I have 2 I have to service!
Looking through this forum I came across this entry http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ca...ms-oh-joy.html
Similar problem as mine. Problem with the possible answer, to get into MN-CON in service mode, you need a working screen!! Especially as in my example, you could not get to the top part of the screen to get to the MN-CON section!
Another post here with similar issues http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ca...epress-c1.html
BUT the solution was to purchase the following "If you have old control panel unit FL2-2616,replace with new one FL3-1063 Also need to replace Inverter PCB Assembly with new one FK2-7408"
Please note as an addendum, Part FL3-1063 comes with a FK2-7408 already, so PLEASE CHECK before you order as in Australia as it is an additional (wasted)$60. The part FL3-1063 is $600AUD.

BUT this did not fix the problem. An expensive mistake. Check to see the actual touchscreen is the fault - Part FK2-1645. This may affect the following machines: imagepress C6000VP, C7000VP, Imagerunner 7086 imagerunner 7095, imagerunner 7105 and the Advance C9065 Pro and Advance C9075 Pro. This is because the part according to Canon FK2-1645-000 Cover / Panel, Genuine (E2489)
is compatible with those machines. Cleaning behind the panel very carefully seemed to fix the problem for awhile but only the top was un-responsive and because you could not get into service mode to run a calibration, this option was useless.

Question: Is there a way to clear an error message without using the touch panel, ie via web interface?

No i dont. I am waiting on a replacement part Part FK2-1645, to see if it fixes the problem first. Its cheaper than the remote operating kit. I'm not giving any more good money at the C1
