Change scanner mode to Online on canon ir2018 with no touch pad screen.

Please I am using a canon multi-function printer with printer, scanner and fax capabilities. I installed the URFII driver and the Network ScanGear software and everything worked well until when I tried to scan and was asked to change the scanner mode to "Online". All the documentation I have shows how to do that using the touch pad panel. My canon machine has a small LCD screen that shows in text mode only. I don't know how to go about to change the mode of the scanner to Online.
Can anyone help me with the procedure to follow to change the scanner to online mode on ir2018 which does not have a touch pad control panel but a small text mode LCD screen?

There is a dedicated scan button as indicated in the attachment.

Thank you very much tectat for the response but I can't seem to find the [Auto Online/Offline] option in the [System Settings]. For information, the [System Settings] has only 8 options in my machine.

what are options ???????????????????

look under System Settings
>look under Communications Settings



NOTE-
I believe Send Function, is available only for the “i” models

Send is not available for 2018/2022
also Optional for: 2018/2022 = PCL Printer Kit-V1
also Optional: Super G3 Fax Board-AA1 (Single Line)

I'll try to resume what i understood from your thread:

1- You have an iR2018 with a small screen display.
2- You want to use color scangear.
3- You don't know how to put the scanner online.

In my above reply, i sent you an attachment showing the scan button. Have you read it ? Does this button exist on your controlle panel or not ?

did u download/set up the Network Color Scan Gear ???????????????
Its available in the Printer driver CD or you can download it from Canon's site.
