USB port in IR 3235n

Hi all.
I want to know, what is the function of the usb port located in the left side of the control panel in IR 3235N?
Can I use this port to read files in the flash memory?

The fact that PCL-UFRII is displayed, means the Unit has an active Print License, you should be able to print files eg; Word, PDF etc from a USB Key.

Nope, Canon office copier don't work that way, inclusive of the Advance range of copier.

For iR32 series, you need what Zoraldinho had indicated for that USB @ ControlPanel side to print PDF.

Those print license of PCL / UFRII are for print jobs via printer drivers installed in PC.

The optional USB Memory Connectivity Kit (LMS License) is required.
The optional PS Printer Kit-AA1 or Direct Print Kit-F1 is required to print from USB removable media for Base Model

How you can print directly from a USB device to the imageRUNNER-
You can print files of a maximum size of 2 GB. 1. Press [Mail Box].
2. Press [Memory Media].
3. Select the memory media → press [Open].
4. Select the document to print → press [Print].
5. To print a PDF, JPEG or TIFF file, select the paper size, press [Done].
6. Press [Start Print].


In order for this function to work, you will need the following items. Please pay attention to the notes for each item since requirements may be different for specific models.

My apologies to mido and thanks to KL568 & Teckat for their input on my above incorrect statement, it was based on the Toshiba 'Out of Box' Units being Print Ready and USB Print enabled (no Licenses required). Sorry.
