Canon CLC 3220 Printer Setup Information

    Hello

I wonder if there is anybody who can assist me..

I have just purchased a second hand Canon CLC3220 for my small office and it did not come with any drivers or anything buy the previous owner said it is fully functional..

The problem is, im new when it comes to printers and know absolutely nothing about them.. I am trying to set up this printer to work with the network as i have 4 other computers that are supposed to print from the same machine..

I have no idea how to set this up, somebody was telling me about TCP/IP stuff but i have no idea how it works..

Can anybody please intruct me on how to get this printer working via the network..

An instruction for dummies would be greatly appreciated.. I have a few pictures i took of the printer and i hope they will help..

Re: Canon CLC 3220 Printer Setup Information

you will need the imagepass C1 print driver and can use either the PS or PCL versions.
If you print mainly office type documents (word, excel etc.) go with the PCL
If you do a lot of publishing files and PDF's then I would go with the PS

Also make sure you download the print driver that matches your computer OS.

I will try and dig up some detailed instructions for you shortly on how to configure the C1 for your network. That being said if you do not know what your network configuration is the instructions will not do you much good.

      here you go:
      C1_Installation.pdf
      C1_SG.pdf

I would maybe seek the assistance of someone in your area who might have some knowledge on this so you do not drive yourself nuts on something you are not trained on doing.

Thank you very much for the files.. I will go through them tonight when there is nobody in the office so i can work in peace..

All the computers here are Using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit.. ..

I had downloaded drivers from the canon website and tried to install them but they had failed to detect the printer.. I guess they must have been the wrong ones..

you would have to have grabbed the IRC-3200-C1 driver. It should be under the imagepass tab under drivers on the public Canon website.

Re: Canon CLC 3220 Printer Setup Information

Thank you, i managed to get the IRC-3200-C1 driver from the canon website and when i downloaded it it had the title PCL5e-c_6_v14.00_setup.exe

I installed it and when i select network, it searches for the printer then find nothing..

When i plug it with a USB-Serial Port cable (or thats what i think the cable is called) This is what happens.. pictures below..

            ready to use.jpgUknown Printer.jpg

I had ran setup on the printer and enabled Ethernet, set it to automatically detect getaway address and server type(i think) to dhcp .. Not sure that is the correct procedure..

The manuals after i read them seem to contain information about the hardware parts (set them up as the service manual said) now i know that white box is called a fiery and its got a hard drive inside, impressive machine is it?

P.S i got the drivers from this LINK are they correct?

do u know how to access the 3220 service mode ??

first make sure to follow the C1 install instructions/
pay attention about when to connect the cables

              do u have a G3 Fax in printer ??

              instead of setup.exe
              I would use the
              PCL5e-c_v14.00_INF.exe

              PCL6_v6.90_Win2k-Win7_INF.exe

              Fax_v8.85_INF.exe

Re: Canon CLC 3220 Printer Setup Information

                      Its has finally worked...

I found an option to reset the printer to factory defaults and entered new information when i ran setup again..

Finally it is printing for now... Thank you to charm5496 and teckat for their wonderful support.. You guys are the best..

Now whats left is to figure out how this thing can print via email.. I see it has that option so why not use it if its there?

Once again thank you Copytechnet for these wonderful people..

Well, it is not VOIP and im not really sure what G3 fax is, but it a normal/standard Telephone line that branches from a small tiny box on the wall, picture below where one goes to the Telephones and the other connecting to the fax machine ..

It was working fine until this morning where when i switched it on it just would not fax, giving me the error i had specified on the above post....

did u run a simple FAX test to another location

                              Could be :
                              - routing error at your ISP or the recipients ISP
                              - the receiving server is rejecting the message
                              - the receiving server is not alive
                              - the receiving server cannot be connected
                              - check for noise (humming, popping, clicking, static, etc.).

Additional Functions and select System Settings
select the option that reads " Restrict Access to Destinations "

enable the use of the fax driver
select Allow Fax Driver TX - "ON" ?
