iR 1022 B&W, display message: out of toner, change toner.

    iR 1022 B&W, display message: out of toner, change toner.

    Ok customer admit he was using duplicate toner, working well until it started giving blank copies. Removed and cleaned the developer and put fresh OEM toner GR-22. But now machine displays 'Out of toner', then followed by 'Change toner'. I don't see any obvious cause for this. Dev. unit seem to make proper contact(or is it?) with the HV in the machine. For now I am stuck, any suggestions will be of great relief to us. Thanks in advance.

    During toner supply to the developing assembly, the inside part of the toner bottle rotates and allows toner transfer to the dev. Verify the following:

    1- If the dev assembly is full of toner, then, you have a toner detection issue. Clean and verify the contacts, replace the dev assy or the Dc controller.
    2- If the dev assembly is empty, you have a toner supply problem: Verify the toner bottle driving system which is in the rear side of the dev assy.

      Problem solved; replaced the developing assembly. 'Toner bottle driving system in the dev. unit' was defective......breaking the toner bottle gears. Thanks.
