there's a black screw holding in a pin on the back and front. That needs to be released and put in the proper position at disassembly. You can see there's a notch on both the gears that turn the fixing shutter. You are supposed to do that as per the manual before disasembly because you're in for a PITA of a time if you don't. Hope this helps
The ir5070 shutter does not really need to be put into Home position when you reassemble it. The shutter runs on a stepper motor which will go looking for home once you re-assemble the copier and turn it on. Though saying that the critical thing with the shutter is to first make sure that both sides move uniformly, or more accurately put, both ends must be matching in their positioning as they move when you hand-rotate the gearing that drives the shutter. As the previous poster pointed out, there is a pin that you can pull that will disengage the gearing between the two sides to help facilitate that adjustment. Did you have to replace the upper fuser? Pain ehh?
