[Misc] Canon ImageRunner iR3300 print blank pages

    Hi All,

I'm a newbie here and a newbie to my recently acquired Canon Ir3300 ImageRunner. A search here failed to find anything useful. it's in great shape all around, however when I fax, print or copy, it only provides a blank page. There are no codes or errors of any kind and I have the service mode code but I don't know what to look for so I got out of it quick and didn't alter anything. If toner was low or out that should display a code I assume. Any help would be appreciated on what to test, replace, adjust etc. At this point it doesn't owe me anything, I rescued it from a defunct storage facility. Thanks!

It could be that the developer unit roller is not turning. Wipe a spot on the roller clean of any toner (if there is any on it, if not that's a good reason for blank sheets). Make a copy then inspect the roller again to see if the bare spot is still there (meaning that the roller never turned).

New-to-you equipment is always sketchy to say the least. Mainly because you actually never did see it working in the first place. It's really hard to figure out where to start simply because it might have been put in storage due to a major problem being found and the funds not being available to fix it or it may have just simply been prepped for storage and the dev backed-off by the technician as Exok has suggested. You might check the service history which is usually written on a piece of paper and either tucked into a pouch on the back of the copier or put inside the front door under a panel. This history would roughly tell you what the service technician had encountered while fixing the copier over it's lifespan, we're only interested in the last entry at this point.

The most likely reason for blank copies or prints is the Dev unit not engaged, the Dev handle cracks allowing it to turn too far. It should be horizontal & visually check it is engaged with the drum.

I think greyrock was thinking of that blue handle at the right, and was most likely thinking of an iR330/400 or NP-6025/6030, not an iR2200/2800/3300. There is a tiny plastic stop molded into the handle plastic. If your enduser breaks off the stop, the developing unit cams right past the ideal distance between dev and drum.

The only reference I could find for blank copies led to the laser, but alas, I've never experienced it myself. =^..^=

                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

                    Hello,

When closing the front door, there is a mechanism that opens the laser mask. Have a look on it.

When you swing that blue lever down, the developer unit should slide to the right and when you swing the lever to where it is shown in the picture, it should slide left. I have seen them where the dev unit is not quite in right and you can move that lever all day and the unit doesn't move into contact with the drum unit. It looks ok from the picture, but something to check.

Check the metal tab on the back of the drum unit and also the contact spring in the back wall of the machine where the drum goes. If the charge roller isn't getting any power, I believe you get blanks as well and I have seen issues with the spring and the metal tab before.

As someone else mentioned, check the door interlocks (there is more than one).
