IR2200 not printing after installation of network card and rom

Hi, this is my first post, look forward to hearing your advice.

Recently I installed a IR2200 network kit with the assistance of my usual printer/copier tech and it is working to a certain extent.

I am able to ping to and from the printer and I can browse the web interface, however I am unable to print. The tech ran out of ideas so I decided to dig a little further and found this site and this thread - http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ca...ng-ir2200.html

Assuming that I have the same problem I am hoping someone can be of assistance.

Here are the details of the currently installed ROM/software

can this be updated via the SST? the understanding that I currently have is that there is both a rom chip and a firmware boot-rom that both need to be the correct version, if this is the case a link to the correct version would be most appreciated, step by step instructions would be a bonus

There is also a small bitcoin tip available for someone who is able to help me and provides their BTC address! (unless this is against the rules?)

Do not know what operating system you are trying to print to but seeing that the PCL is not listed in your examples try using the UFRII drivers.Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : imageRUNNER 2200, and you need a network boot rom the be able to print - N version.

Looking at the 2nd jpg it shows you have a Copy Boot Rom. You need a Network Boot ROM to be able to print. The network kit should have included a NIC, a Network Boot ROM board and you also have to flash the machine with Network Software.

u need a "N" Boot rom from kit

Network Boot Rom DIMM is not stocked as a service part. To upgrade a stand alone machine into a network machine, a Multi PDL Kit must be installed. The Network Boot DIMM wil be included in the kit.

No PS/PCL shown under Service Mode>Copier>Display>Version>PS/PCL
means u do not have a "N" Boot as shown in your pic---


was it Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit - C1

you will also need the 2200N Firmware installed v45.01 which has "N" Boot v26.44

The Tech provided the Kit, came with the NIC and the ROM chip, I will get in contact with him again and provide him with the information in this thread, That should get it sorted.

In this model, there are:

Three possible BootRoms:

1- Boot C: For copier only (You can ping the machine but you can't print).
2- Boot N: For Pcl printer (Install PCL driver to be able to print).
3- Boot H: For PS printer (Install PS driver to be able to print).

And Two possible firmwares:

1- Copier firmware: It must be installed (via SSTool) with the Boot C version (You can ping the machine but you can't print)
2- PS/PCL firmware for both BootN and BootH.

The default firmware language is english. Other than english, you've to download your language with the same firmware version. Otherwise, it won't be displayed.

The 'H' version of Main Controller and Boot ROM Firmware is for European models and should not be used on any models that are sold in the United States.

* The 'H' version of System Software is no longer packaged with the System Software releases. This article is for the dealers that have an older version of System Software and have the 'H' directory on the CD. Do not use this file when flashing the imageRUNNER controllers.
