IR3570 that has responds oddly when buttons are pushed on the ops panel

I have a Canon IR3570 that has been working great and all of a sudden today the customer calls me to say the control panel is not working properly. Basically when you try to press one of the buttons on the display it actuates the button below it instead. So if i want to change the paper size I have to hit above that button to get it to respond. I even went into service mode and could not get it to actuate the "copier" button, everytime I hit it the "feeder" button below it would respond. Please help!!
    Thanks so much guys

just to make sure Im clear, the lcd display part of the control panel is what I am referring too. It works but its as though the buttons are offset....like they are in the wrong place. If you want to use the preset zoom ratios then you have to hit the one above the one that u actually want and then it looks jsut like u hit it normally except you finger isnt on that button.

It's the tablet that you want. What happens is that the ribbon cable, which is attached with conductive adhesive starts to separate. Even if you are successful in re-calibrating the screen, it will shift again within a couple days. It's hardly worth it, but you can get a short term benefit by pressing the ribbon cable firmly against the glass (without breaking the glass, of course). Again, within a few days, it will be acting up again.

The part number is: FK2-0329-000 Analog Touch Panel Unit

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Black Cat is right with the part number. It's cheap but you have to take the panel apart. Easy enough though
