For what reason would you choose to cheat the machine to ignore the error message, that calls for replacement of either the fixing film or the fuser unit.

E007 have to deal with anything about the fixing film. Carefully observe from the fixing unit to see if the film have displaced. It will be ideal to change the film completely. In correcting this ensure that the white rectangular area at the right hand side of the fixing film faces the thermostat properly. If it does not, you may though have changed the film, the E007 will still show. Try this before you consider any other option.

Hi. E007 means that the sensor does not detect the rotation of the fixing film. There are 2 causes :
          1. the fixing film is broken, damaged, etc.
          2. The film is ok but it does not rotate

My advice is change the fixing film. Go for the original Canon film. Very important : observe carefully where the film is broken. If it has moved to one of the sides and got torn there, then you must change the pressure roller bearings or else the new film will have the same fate. Clean very well the fixing film unit and then on the heating element apply the special vaseline. Do not abuse it. After all this, rotate the film manually and see if it rotates without problems.
          Good luck.

            Hi,

This unit film could be still working if the error E007 could be ignored.

I had this idea when I was checking a fixing film of the canon IR 1018 that was worse than the fixing film in the picture
and the customer was working with his machine without problems.
If the machine had been a IR 2016, the error e007 would have appeared.

Try to rotate the film manually. See if it rotates smoothly. If not, apply a new grease on the heating element and put the old fixing film back in. Like i said, with an original film, new bushings, new grease, asumming the other parts are ok, your fuser will work just fine for at least 150k copies. When was the last pm done on the copier? What's the counter? Any ideea when the fixing film was changed? We could use a little background.

The only thing that I can add to this conversation is to talk about the white patch. That's how the machine determines that the fuser film is rotating. You can get E007 for a few different reasons:

                  - The film may not be rotating.
                  - The film may be torn so that the white patch has migrated away from the sensor.
                  - The white patch may not be white any more.

The last situation came up last week. I tried cleaning the patch and only succeeded in removing the remain whiteness from the film. I don't know if there is an aftermarket film available for this machine, but that may be an option.

The machine will not ever ignore an E007 message. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
