    [Error Code] IRADVC9060 E197-0000 Solved

Here is a new "MC Guyver" from me
I had a few Boxes in the field throwing me an intermittand E197-0000 (Serial Communication Error between DC Control and Fixing/Feeder Drive Board). Service Manual says as usual: Replace Boards (to make Canon rich) but not with me

I haunted the Error down to an unreliable connection between the fixing/feeder assy and the main frame connector. I think nearly every experienced technician has a pretty little package in reach, containing some screws, jesus rings, springs and washers, so do I. I got some washers, placed them between the fixing/feeder assy and the connector, so it raised 3mm and make a reliable contact in future with the main frame connector. Problem solved

      Good Fix
It takes me back to NP 6050 where we had to modify the springs and bolts on that connector
I had my first one yesterday (subcode 000). I got off easy by sticking my (tweaker) small flat screwdriver back there and found some paper.

Too bad you didn't ask. They have modified some of the connectors
It happens on adv 6000/8000 series too.

for subcode 002 you have to replace the fuser connector. Shimming it never works for me
So far I have been able to get by with replacing the fuser side only.
But I have heard of some where you have to do the frame side also.
