    Symptom
Service manual description of error code: E677-0010-00

Failure in Print Server. Failure was detected in operation of the CPU fan on the print server.
Remedy 1. Replace the board of the print server.
Remedy 2. Reinstall the Print Server.

The Technician loaded system software with a computer and it appeared to take. When he finished, the unit would not connect to the copier or would repeatedly reboot. The imagePASS Motherboard and hard drive were replaced with the same results.

    PRODUCTS AFFECTED
    • imagePASS-A1: imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7000 / C9000 PRO Series
    • imagePASS-B1: imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5000 Series
    • imagePASS-G1: iR C6800 Series
    • imagePASS-H1: iR C5180 Series
    • imagePASS-J1: iR C3380 / C3580i Series
    • imagePRESS Server T1: imagePRESS C1 / C1+

    Action
    E677-0010 was displayed on copier.

Conclusion: Original Software loads on hard drive may not have taken based on descriptions of the unit rebooting. Loading software by way of the USB method is another way to go if the conventional method fails.

      5000 or adv c5000?
      If it's just a 5000 it's a PDL error. Also can be caused by flashing a 5000 to main con v 60.04.
If you can give us the sub code that would help tremendously

      Error :
      E677 Error Code, imageRUNNER 5000 / 6000

      Workaround :
There are many causes depending upon the subcode, the 4 digit code after E677, for example E677-5803. Here is a list of errors which can be displayed on the LCD control and are not in the service manual.
      E677-5801 PDL Accelerator
E677-5803 PDL No RIP Hardware. The RIP1 board is not installed or not working properly.
For the imageRUNNER 5000 with the old main controller, check to see if the RIP Board is installed next to the parallel port. If there is not a RIP board installed, then install the Network Printer Kit-A1 (sales item # F61-8502-000). Since the A1 kit has been discontinued...if you get this error and you are installing the Network Printer Kit-A2 in the 5000 (old main controller) then you must replace and install the new main controller. You can only install the Network Printer Kit-A2 in an iR5000 with the new main controller.
      E677-5802 PDL Initialize Error
      E677-5802 PDL Service Call
