We have the Canon imagerunner 3570. When we copy the top gets cut off. We try to fix the margin setting but it doesn't seem to help. It even does it when we use the feeder. Please help.

Re: Canon imageRUNNER 3570
Have you looked at something simple ... like how the paper is loaded in the paper tray? It's very common to have the gear shaft break off in the base of the paper tray. As a result, the rear paper guide slips all the way to the back. To compensate the enduser moves the front guide up tight to the paper, offsetting the paper ~30mm to the rear.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Canon imageRUNNER 3570
Following the first picture if you copy with A4 size I think because of the clutch as my attached file.
But the second picture if you still copy with A4 should from the paper tray.
Hope my information can help you.Attached FilesComment

Re: Canon imageRUNNER 3570
did u try all Paper Trays ??
like that paper tray check suggestion /
I used to pick up the empty cassettes and shake them upside-down to see if small gear falls out
Cassette Body Gear Post Breaking.pdf
did u check copies from bypass tray
don't forget to put back margin settings from sheet

Re: Canon imageRUNNER 3570
temp fix-------------
slide a sheet of paper between face plate & motor if possible >rotate plate to remove grime / a very thin cotton rag damp with alcohol ( save some to drink later) work it back and forth to clean/ if u can remove face place ( on some cl's u can) this will help/
now go and buy a new CLUTCH/ best to not be cheap than sorry later

1-We try to fix the margin setting but it doesn't seem to help. It even does it when we use the feeder.
2- I change the clutch and it work fine
3-the problem has started again
4-remove a working machine clutch and fit it inside but still no result
u need to do process of elimination tests
1-Did u check all Paper Trays(for paper size identity) (damaged/missing tray gear)
size of paper inside the cassette is detected by the cassette size dial, and is communicated to the cassette size detection PCB.
As may as 15 positions may be detected with reference to the combinations of on and off states of the array of 4 actuators mounted to the cassette size detection PCB on the printer side and operating in conjunction with the cassette size dial.
cassette size dial is equipped with a switch operated to change between AB and Inch configurations; the cassette
size detecting switch will detect the configuration as soon as a cassette is fitted in the machine.
2- did u check copying from the BYPASS Tray
width of paper is detected with reference to the output of the variable resistor (SVR1), which operates in conjunction with the movement of the side guide.
3- did u check the the registration clutch (SL2),to turn on and off the registration roller so that the paper will be matched in relation to the image on the drum at correct registration.
4-COPIER > ADJUST > ADJ-XY
ADJ-X=Adjusting the optical image head position (image read start position in the sub-scan direction) (this is PAPER FEED DIRECTION)
<Setting range> 1 to 100 (Default: 20)
Increasing the value by 1 shifts the image read start position 0.1 mm backward
ADJ-Y =Adjusting the CCD read start cell position (image read start position in the main-scan direction)
<Setting range> 85 to 169 (Default: 144)
Increasing the value by 1 shifts the image read start position 0.1 mm outward.
5- Did u check your = COPIER > ADJUST > BLANK settingsare they in spec from service label
?
BLANK-T = Entering an adjustment value for the chipping width at the front of an image
<Setting range> -128 to 127 (Default: 0)
Setting a greater value increases the chipping width.
If RAM on the DC controller circuit board has been cleared or the board itself has been replaced, enter the value from the service label.
BLANK-B Entering an adjustment value for the chipping width at the rear of an image
<Setting range> -128 to 127 (Default: 0)
Setting a greater value increases the chipping width.
If RAM on the DC controller circuit board has been cleared or the board itself has been replaced, enter the value from the service label.
6-COPIER > ADJUST > MISCdid u check these values ? in LEVEL 2 ?
C1/2/3/4-
ADJ-Y
Entering a horizontal registration adjustment value for Cassette 1/2/3/4
Enter a laser write start position for paper fed from Cassette 1/2/3/4 according to the registered numeric value.
<Setting range> -128 to 127 (Default: 0)
MF-ADJY
Entering a horizontal registration adjustment value for the multiple manual feed tray
Enter a laser write start position for paper fed from the multiple manual feed tray according to the registered numeric value.
<Setting range> -128 to 127 (Default: 0)
DK-ADJY
Entering a horizontal registration adjustment value for the side paper deck
Enter a laser write start position for paper fed from the side paper deck according to the registered numeric value.

Re: Canon imageRUNNER 3570
The lead to trail cut off could be due to someone putting oil on the ends of the registration roller. Esp since your problem is intermittent. The reg roller needs to have the drag in its bushings to stay consistent!
The vertical cut off looks like a tray problem.Comment
