    IR3245 jam code 0201

Can someone help me on this. I don't have a service manual on this copier and customer is constantly jamming. Of course, we've replace all cassette feed tires and adf sep pad. Older model(2270) shows jam code is related to cassette 1 so we stopped using that tray just to see and they are still getting this.

Paper Stops At The Registration Roller

In figure 102 item number twelve is a 28T drive pulley which has 'Bunny ears' that insert into the main drive assembly. The ears break off and the registration unit stops turning. The pulley was replaced , to resolve this issue

The part # for pulley is FU6-0040-000.

Jam Code 0201 shown on the Display.
The paper will constantly stop at the Registration Roller.
In parts check the Registration Clutch activates fine.
          Copier>Function>Part-Chk
          CL2 is the Registration Clutch

In a few cases the plastic sleeve that runs through the clutch that clips it to the shaft was broken.
          Clutch part number is FK2-0361-000

Since I don't have a service manual, I am referring to the SM for the ir2270, is the procedure to remove the Main Drive Assy the same? It looks like that is all I need to remove to get to the reg clutch and pulley, right?

Stupid question but I assume you've checked the paper dial indicator?

We have certainly missed simple things like that in the past, but unfortunately not this time, dial is good.

ok cool. I don't quite remember for sure if they had the same issues with the lower right door not closing the black guide properly as on the 2270/4570 series. One way clutch at the feeding unit for tray 1.

Does it jam interrmitently alot, or does it jam every time? If the bunny ears(lol) are trashed, it will jam every time. Paper folded or just stopped after starting to feed from tray? Right side door pressure alright? I have seen the metal spring get bent on ends and doesnt apply pressure to vertical rolls...or the little black plastic clips that sit on top of small right side door that push on the spring plate fall off. What if you run LTRR or legal....

It jams alot, almost every copy but not every copy. It is jamming at the registration roller and the registration is off on the copies pulled out, so we are guessing registration clutch is slipping? We have checked the right side door and the other suggestions. Jams regardless of cassette or paper size. We have ordered clutch and pulley so will see what happens. Any other suggestions would be great.

Yep sounds like the clutch to me. it seems as though it's not pulling it out of the tray feed sensor in time giving the delay jam.

Just had this recently. The pre reg flag runs from the middle to the rear. At the rear there is a metal stopper plate that the flag hits. There is one of those famous damper pads that get sticky. I was getting 0201 jam codes anytime the machine wasn't used for a couple hours. 0201 indicates stationary jam at ps10 but it was because paper wasn't able to actuate pre reg sensor.Replaced that black pad and so far so good. Took out pfu"s and was able to get my hand in there from behind. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much, we removed that pad and it seems to be working fine now. Appreciate your help!

That was my next post.....the plastic digs a groove right into the damper and hangs up. One of them ones that "aint in the book". I don't disassemble anything. Needle nosed pliers, bend the metal tab out, scrape the pad off, bend it back.Flag just rests against when not actuated so as long as you get it close to same position doesnt cause an issue. Don't usually like to bend things, but in this case accuracy is not real important
