Canon Irc-4080 ligth copies from bypass, heavy2

Hello all,

Hope someone can help me out with this.

I have 2 canon IRC-4080 and both giving this same issue: When printing from bypass tray on heavy 1 and 2
the prints come out light and colors are off, blacks come out very light. if you select normal paper the prints come out perfect.
Checked out in service manual but couldn't figure out what the cause is, there must be a setting i think.

Simple fix


Performing the Auto Gradation Mode (Full Adjust) while feeding paper from the ByPass

Disengage all the cassette drawers and the paper deck from the machine, to force it to feed paper from the ByPass.

1 -Press (Additional Functions) [Adjustment/Cleaning]
[Auto Gradation Adjustment].
2 -Select the paper type (HEAVY) press [Full Adjust].


One point--- u can also check if the image is light on ITB when using bypass HEAVY

if HEAVY 1 is light from cassette & bypass =could be a bad ITB Drive Motor M1
