Good Day!
Im having a serious trouble with my CANON ir c5870 always having a paper jam followed by and error code E0051-00001.
I have clean all the sensor with air blower and some replace it with new one. by still code appear i have already clear the error.
Plz someone help me

Were i can find the horizontal registration home position.
it say that the horizontal registration home position is not detected within a specific period of time.

A couple of Tech Cases - hope they help.

In this case, a bent guide in the duplex path was blocking the actuation of the horizontal registration sensor (PS24); resulting in the error code. Once the actuation of the sensor was set back to normal the error code was resolved.

Symptom
The E051 is a side registration home position error. This error occurs while the M28 horizontal registration motor moves the horizontal registration plate to the home position. The horizontal registration home position sensor PS24 fails to detect the plate thus generating the E051 error code.

Cause
In this case, the Gear listed in Figure 272, Key Number 6, had a few teeth missing preventing the gear from being driven.

Action
Replace the gear with a new one (FS6-0557-000).

Check for any jammed paper in Duplex Area





1. Check PS24 (horizontal registration sensor) for correct position and any fallen paper.

2. Check M28 (Horizontal Registration Motor) for operation.
Service Mode > COPIER > FUNCTION > PART-CHK > MTR #28

sir I am tired of E 00051 because ... as I show problems with horizontal registration sensors, I tried the and change duplex unit on another machine ... however ... the duplex jam is showing and then after removing the duplex the machine gets warm and then the E00051- 0001 This error is coming ... As you mentioned I have also changed the MSW5 switch but the error does not go .... Please help me.

Ir 7105 and E00051-0001 is proscribed again and again........... I have three ir 7105 machines. So for the first time I tried replacing the duplex, then I changed the MSW5 switch as you mentioned and then I first changed the DC board. But the problem is coming along .We just wanted to try to replace the previous connector which is a duplex to mashine connector...... what i do?

Error E051: The horizontal registration HP detection has an error.
sub code 0001- After the start of horizontal registration HP detection,
the HP sensor is not off within 5 sec
(i.e., not leaving home position).
MEMO:
Remedial action: If an error is detected in the course of horizontal
registration HP detection at power-on, the
machine will indicate the presence of a jam.
At the start of horizontal registration
detection in the course of printing, the
horizontal
registration detection operation for
downstream paper does not end within 5
sec.
sub code 0003 - Replace the horizontal registration HP sensor. Replace
the horizontal registration motor.
Replace the stackless transport driver PCB. Replace
the DC controller PCB.

The horizontal registration sensor moves to the start position (A4 detection position) when the main power
switch is turned on or the front cover is closed, and moves to a detection position to suit the size of paper
expected in the lower feeding assembly. Its position of etection is "paper width +2 mm."
The paper detection mechanism starts when paper moved to the lower feeding assembly has moved past
the confluence sensor (PI 15) and has been moved over a specific distance (about 10mm past the horizontal
registration sensor).
The position of paper is detected with reference to the start position and by finding out the difference between
the start position and the actual paper position from the number of drive pulses (1 pulse = about 0.16
mm) of the motor.

Related service mode COPIER > ADJUST > FEED-ADJ > ADJ-REFE

We have three mashines same... i have change 3 duplex of other mashine but... mashine gone that shows jam
