[CQ] c5030 Magenta background

I have a c5030 that produces a pale magenta background on color prints and color copies. B&W prints and copies look fine. The background is darkest at the top of the page (where there seems to be a bit of yellow mixed in with it). The magenta background fades as very gradually down the page, never completely fading away. I just noticed that the background is present on both sides of the page even though it's a single page print (a windows test page).
This machine was recently shipped to San Antonio, TX from Virginia. How long it was idle/in storage is not known. Page count = 115k.
Any ideas what might be causing this. My first thought is a bad drum or toner cartridge.

Thanks for the quick reply. The background is not nearly as severe as in your photo, but I have no doubt that the machine was shipped with drums and toners installed. I'll dig in and see what's going on.
