Are the Lines in The Paper Feed Direction or Across the Drum?

Question :
I have a Copy with Lines {Black or White} the whole length of the Copy. When describing the Copy Quality issue, many times I am asked if the Lines are in the Paper Feed Direction or Across The Drum. How can I confirm the direction of the lines?
Answer :
Example : Making Copies in the Letter Direction using Test Chart NA2.
Lines in the Paper Feed Direction
The lines will run from the Lead Edge of the copy to the Trail edge of the copy. The eleven inch edge to the eleven inch edge of the paper.
Lines Across The Drum
The lines will run from Side to Side. The eight and a half inch edge to the eight and a half inch edge of the paper.
