    [CQ] black bands on copies

iam facing this problem of black bands emerging on copies even if i change the drum.It is happening in 3 machines.I have changed the drum.pcr, hvt, drum unit.
new drum only yields 200-300 copies.Image arttached

changed the HDD with new firmware aslo.sometimes the drum yields more than 5k and then problem arises

SLK is 2870 I believe. Is that printout coming directly from the unit or a copy?

Could be an issue with the pressure roller, possibly being worn and having a wear point on it.

This can sometimes lead to streaking like this.

Why don't you try switching dv unit with another machine.

Does the drum look worn when you remove it? You've replaced or swapped everything that contacts it. The only other thing I would look at would be the erase lamps or the laser although I've never heard of a laser or erase lamps damaging a drum. Check door specs for developing also.

can speak for myself and another user on the forums but we did get a batch of bad gpr15/16 drums that caused all sorts of wonky things. It was the only time in my 11 years of being a Canon tech that Canon actually requested to have a drum unit sent back directly to tech support

                              black bands

Use best quality drums and pcr.

This is a common problem in 3300/2230/2870 etc. Its only because of low quality of drum and pcr.
Whenever u get this problem, see there on drum and pcr carefully for spots at both ends.

Also u can extend your ordinary drums life by sticking one round of athesive tape ( cello tape) on the drum at both ends where spacer rollers attach to drum.
