    canon ir5000/6000

    hello everybody i have canon ir5000dn i want to format the hdd.120gb.it is possible to use the SST? it is a new one HDD
    and how?can you help me please!!!!!!

      If it is like other Canon's you will need to install system software with new HDD. You can use the SST to format & install system software.

          U can use only a Canon OEM HDD for this model ==WM2-5137-000

                  why don't you call for a trained tech

                  HDD must be in printer to Format it

                  1-u need the iR5000 FIRMWARE downloaded into laptop/pc
                  2-u then need to register the FIRMWARE into SST
                  3-u need the correct cable from laptop/pc to printer
                  when all that is complete> u can then start the format process using SST & the 5000 models Format file

                      I suppose that you got the SST along with its manual, you better read it to gain confidence. Also read the UPGRADING chapter of the IR5000/6000 Service Manual.
