I have a canon ir c4080 powers up but control panel is blank, replaced panel with no change.

A couple of questions - 1 - does the machine cycle over as if warming up (can take about 5mins) then settle to a light fan sound as if it has come to 'Ready' ?
2- or does the machine start to warm up then 5 'beeps' and then a loud fan sound?
3 - where did the 'new' Control Panel come from?
