    Canon c2880i lines

Hey guys I have a 2880i thats giving me a headache, machine has 100k on it and has CMY thin lines only in color. changed trans roller and ITB belt and it got worse. before the change it was only pinstripes of the colors now in black mode it has the colored V's on the first few pages and then goes back to black but the cq is terrible. and the new transfer roller is covered in the lines.
    Any ideas?

It does it bot copy and print, but the lines are only appear when copy/print in color up until I changed the ITB and Trans roller. Now in B&W mode it repeats the color check on the first 3 B&W copies then clears up but the over all copy looks terrible now. Color mode didnt change at all still has the CMY pinstripes and on the transfer roller.

I have no history of this machine either witch sucks, Id like to try a new set of drum units(they do show signs of wear) but if its something more serious id prefer not to dump 1k worth of parts in it if its a board issue etc.
        Thanks

you got a spare machine to try parts out of? Can you scan me an example when you get a chance please?

White lines will be caused by dirty laser, etc.. dark lines are generally always drums on these units.

holy shit that's terribad, guaranteed drums. If the color bleeds over the edges of the page you're pretty much guaranteed it's the drum. Try just the cyan and see how it goes. PG10's are what I used to troubleshoot colours from the printer itself.

Thanks man. yea and it got worse after changing the ITB and Transfer roller.
would bad drums also put the lines on the secondary Xfer roller too?

absolutely because it's always transferring lines to the ITB when it passes over the 2nd trans roller it'll leave lines on it too. That's a very good way to determine if it's your drums btw they'll dirty the heck out of the 2nd trans roller. It probably got stronger because the new primaries are stronger and would emphasise that fault better.

Great machines as long as you don't get the insert black drum or e990 codes.

I'll cross my fingers, thanks for the heads up.
                            I appreciate all the help.
Were Toshiba and this is an out of town contractor for the power co.
Now do I just drop the drums in or do I have to calibrate anything?
                            Thanks Again.

                              additional functions > adjustment/maintenance
run both a color mismatch adjustment and a full auto gradation adjustment.
add functions > 2+8 > add functions to go in service mode, copier > PG > PG type 10 press ok and press start to print. You'll understand why I'm telling you this when it comes out. You can easily tell color defects with this internal print.
