Re: color issues
I am working with Rob Johnson on this machine. It has had this issue many times over the last 6 months.
we've tried:
auto color mismatch
quick adj
full adj
level 2 reg-clr
entire new process assembly drawer
laser scanner unit
dc-con clear
we're looking at PDRM-EF-A PCB boards as a possible cause?
Thoughts?Comment

Re: color issues
whats happens if you manually adjust image reg in svc mode?
had plenty that i have had to tweak that way.......
also I would have cleared mn-con as wellComment

Re: color issues
You have issues in main scan(laser) and sub-scan(ITB) directions. Replace the dcon(I certainly hope you have re-installed system software....latest version). If you have to tweak colour reg in service mode, then you have a problem. Colour density tweaks...ok....colour registration tweaks...a nono.....something is wrong. Patch reader should correct it. Check for a dirty patch reader. Personally i would slap a dcon in itComment

Re: color issues
I would focus on the sub-scan issue first
Sub Scanning Direction
The following is the sequence of operation:
1) When the print command arrives, the DC controller generates the sub scanning sync signal (PTOP) with reference to its internal timer.
2) The DC controller generates the sub scanning sync signals (Y-TOP, M-TOP, C-TOP, Bk-TOP) of individual colors based on the PTOP signal, and sends them to the Main Controller.
3) When these signals arrive, the Main Controller generates video signals (VDO Y, VDO M, VDO C, VDO Bk) a specific period of time thereafter, and sends them to the DC controller. As a result, the laser drivers of individual colors go on to emit laser beams that scan the surface of the photosensitive drum starting at a specific point.
PG10 =MCYBk horizontal stripe (sub scanning direction) Main controller PCB (main)
is the solenoid opening the shutters that cover the sensors.

Re: color issues
To all who made suggestions , thank you very much. Yesterday I went to the customer and replaced the two PDRM-EF-A pcb assemblies, and the DC Controller and made all adjustments. We have not heard from them since then . I am hoping that this is the end of this problem. Thanks again to everyone.Comment
